Christmas Tree Die-namic

Last Christmas cards before Christmas Day where I got 2 cards using the Christmas Tree Cutout. One came out traditional and the other one more of a vintage look with the sheet music background.

First I stamped a background using the Sheet Music Background stamp onto Primitive Cream card stock and used Walnut Stain distress around the edges and did my first cut which is the card below.

Since I had the reminder of the music sheet, I didn't want it to go to waste so I made another one Christmas card but forgot to distress around it before layering it in which is pictured above. Added 5/8" Gold Satin Ribbon and snowflake sequins to finish it off.

This card uses Primitive Cream, Berrylicious cardstock, Silver paper, and lots of sequins. Added a nice size green bow 5/8" Satin Green to finish it off. I'm going to try and take a picture of this card outside during the day to see if it comes out better since it's hard to photograph the silver.

These are for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge of Winter Inspiration and Love Rubberstamps Challenge with "Anything Goes" this week, LRSBC131.  Check them out if you haven't already.

Happy Holidays!!

MOJO376 - Christmas and Peace on Earth

One more Christmas card, but this time, I went with traditional colors as I used the photo inspiration of the winter scene from the Simon Says Wed challenge. With Christmas just a few days away, I decided to keep going since I need a few more cards and my family loves to receive different versions. This is also for the Loves Rubberstamps challenge which is "Anything Goes" LRSBC131 week.

I used the Mojo Monday 376 Sketch as I thought it was so cute and I used one of my favorite stamp sets called: Peach On Earth by Verve. Here I started with the Blueprint 20 for the scallop base using Crumb Cake card stock. Used the Snowflake Swirl embossing folder for the top portion.

To get the double stitched look of the circle, I used the MFT Blueprint 12. Again, I love this reindeer as I find it a perfect size to add onto cards and so cute! Added four little tiny white pearls on each corner just to add a little extra touch to this card and foam mount under the reindeer and under the 3"inch square.

Happy Holidays!!!

MFTWSC207 - Cool Day with Christmas

What a fun sketch over at My Favorite Things with MFTWSC207 so went back to my crafting table to get another Christmas card done as well as a Winter Inspiration for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge  and over at the Sugar Pea Design they have their monthly challenge with "Anything Goes" SPD12 and Loves Rubberstamps challenge which is"Anything Goes" LRSBC131 week also.

Here is my card
Got to play again with this cute stamp set from MFT called: Cool Day and used Berrylicious card stock to get me started. Than I pulled out the Horizontal Stitched Strips for the bottom portion where I stamped it using the Nordic Knit set and Berrylicious ink.

Since I wanted the top portion also stitched, I used my Blueprint 13 and modified the cut to be shorter which I embossed using the Star Stencil. Next, I went and pulled out the Pierced Fishtail Flags and went on to color this cute Polar Bear and North Pole using my Copic markers. Added some star enamel dots in the end and added foam mount under the Bear to add a little dimension.

Happy Holidays!!

Christmas with Snow and Reindeers

This photo is such an inspiration and as I mentioned in my last post many things came to mind for this, so I got working again on more Christmas cards. This is for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge with a Winter Inspiration week.

Here is my card:
Loving these snowflakes by Simon Says which are called: Rylynn and Abby along with the cute Holiday frame which already has Merry Christmas on it. Easy to make several Christmas cards with just a few dies.  I used foam mount under the frame to pop it up a little and added some Stitched Snow drift behind it for more snow.

The snowflakes were die cut using SU Silver Glitter Paper and I used Texture Paste along with Snowfall background Stencil (SS) which is my favorite right now. It doesn't take very long to dry, but if you wanted it instance than you can use a heat gun.

Card stock is a new color from MFT called Blueberry and love the blue on it. Colored in the "MERRY" with Silver pen and added some Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze to add some sparkle to the word.

Last but not least added some cute little Reindeers from the stamp set called: Unto Us by Verve and used the matching die to cut it out. I love using them on Christmas cards along with one of my favorite brown inks which is SU Soft Suede. Finished it off by added some red hearts enamel dots.

Again, Happy Holidays!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Unto Us (Verve),
Cardstock: Smooth White (MFT),
Inks: Soft Suede (SU), Silver Pen
Accessories: Blueprints 13 (MFT), Reindeer Die (Verve), Holiday Frame (SS), Snowflake Dies (SS), Stitched Snow Drifts (MFT), Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze (MFT), Snowflake Stencil (SS), Texture Paste (Ranger), Enamel Dots (Teresa Collins), Foam Mount.

Merry Monday 139 & SS - Christmas with Polar Bear

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge has this adorable winter pictures and so many things came to my mind. Also, with Christmas around the corner, I needed to work on more cards. This week's challenge is: Winter Inspiration

Plus Merry Monday Challenge 139 also has a winter theme this week and it was a perfect opportunity to play with a new stamp set called: Cool Day with Polar Bears and snow.

Here is my card:
Isn't this polar bear cute? I love it and I had fun coloring with my copics. I only wish I could re-wind this week since I have this awful cold and now rushing to get Christmas cards done. This one is for my girls. I still need to make one more.

This is perfect for gift cards and or a special love one and was so happy to play with more stuff as well. Only wish I was 100 percent, but it appears everyone I see has this awful cold. So pushing through it especially since this is their Christmas present now that they are older and may not have enough time within these days.

Here is the inside using: CS Christmas (MFT) and the little mittens are from the same stamp set as the Polar Bears called: Cool Day.

Easy to make this gift card using the Gift Card Grooves Die-namics from MFT along with the Pierced Rectangle Stax set. Even my husband loved it and thought it was a perfect slot for money or gift cards. The sentiment for this side of the card is from the stamp set: Gifting Fun which has such cute sayings.

Here I used the Blueprints 17 using Night shift Blue card stock and Berrylicious card stock for the center. Added some background using Snow Fall and white embossed. To create some dimensions for the word sentiment instead of using foam mount, I cut the sentiment 4 times and layered them on top of one another.

Actually, 3 looks good using the Smooth White Heavyweight paper but in the end, I added a fourth layer. Almost forgot, there is a little tiny snowflake in the Cool Day stamp set that I stamped around the border using Sweet Tooth pigment ink. Enamel dots where added at the end for final touch.

Sorry for the long post, but wanted to show off the inside as well and since there was a lot of different supplies used, I thought it would be easier to break it down.

Happy Holidays! Don't forget to check out the challenge sites. Now I'm going back to work on more Christmas cards.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Cool Day (MFT), CS Christmas (MFT), Gifting Fun (MFT), Snowfall background (MFT)
Cardstock: Smooth White (MFT), Nightshift Blue (MFT), Berrylicious, X Press It Blending Card stock
Inks: MFT Hybird Ink Black, Copic Markers
Accessories: Blueprints 17 (MFT), Pierced Rectangle Stax (MFT), Christmas Greetings (MFT), White Embossing Powder Super Fine Detail (Ranger), Enamel Dots (MME), Foam Mount.

MOJO Monday 376 - Sparkle & Shine

It's been a while and I have missed playing Mojo Monday so to get back into the swing with this week sketch MOJO 376 designed by Julee Tilman. Also, another card for Simon Monday Challenge with "Anything Goes".

Here is my card:
Here I used my Simon Says December card kit using the stamp set called: Sparkle and Shine and tried to focus on only using the supplies from the kit, except I did add some ribbon and sparkle enamel dot, but other than that all is from the kit including the embossing powder.

Also, the dies I used for this card were not from the kit, but instead from my large collection of dies I have. Here I used MFT Blueprints 13 to cut the Silver card stock and for the circle, I used Blueprints 12 which leaves stitches on the inside and outside of the circle.

Love this sentiment and had lots of fun embossing. The kit came with 2 embossing powders and I choose to use the Ranger liquid platinum for this card. In the end, I added some ribbon and little silver enamel dot and kept it clean and simple.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Sparkle & Shine (SS)
Cardstock: Simon Says December Kit
Accessories: Blueprints 12 & 13 (MFT), Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder (Ranger), Ribbon, Enamel Dot (MME), Foam Mount.

Jingle All The Way with Stencils

Simon Monday Challenge this week has "Anything Goes" so I figured to make more Christmas Cards and use stencils to help me.  They have wonderful inspiration from the design team so make sure to check it out over here.

Here is my cards:
Stencil used here is: Spring Flowers (MFT)

Stencil for this one is: Diagonal Stripes (MFT)

Stencil for this one is: Concentric Circles (MFT)

One more card with the Spring Flowers Stencil (MFT)

Love this stamp set from My Favorite Things called: Jingle All the Way so pulled out some Copic markers and colored away.

To get this red texture, I used Texture Paste and mixed it with Electric Red re-inker (MFT) and than sprinkled on some Ranger Holographic embossing powder to give it a little sparkle which is hard to see in the photo but it's there.

Sentiment for these came from the stamp set Merry Messages (MFT) along with Wild Cherry card stock and Sour Apple under the Santa.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Jingle All the Way (MFT), Merry Messages (MFT)
Cardstock: Smooth White (MFT), Wild Cherry (MFT), Sour Apple, X Press It Blending Card stock

Merry Monday 134 - Happy Holidays

This is such a cute photo inspiration and thought to give it a try since I'm still working on more Christmas Cards. This one is from the Merry Monday Challenge #134 and the Simon Says Monday Challenge to use ornaments.

Here is my card:
I haven't pulled out my Cricut all year long so I pulled it out and found some fantastic Christmas items in the Art Philosophy cartridge so I started there and cut out the frame using Outdoor Denim and ornament with Crystal blue. To add the silver, I embossed the areas where I wanted some shine.

The sentiment is from the stamp set: Holiday Treats by Verve and stamped using Outdoor Denim ink.

Hard to tell in the photo but I made this little frame in a style of a shaker so the ornament could be popped up behind the snowflakes which were embossed using a snowflake folder and with shimmer white background.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Holiday Treats (Verve), Art Philosophy(Cricut)
Paper: Wonderland (ctmh)
Cardstock: White, Outdoor Denim, Crystal Blue, Shimmering Cardstock (Crafter's Companion)
Inks: Outdoor Denim (ctmh)
Accessories:  Silver Foil (SU), Ribbon, Let it Snow Embossalicious (Crafter's Companion), Silver Embossing Powder, Emboss Pen (Zig), and Foam Mount.

Day 1 of Holiday Card Workshop

I'm way behind on my homework, but at least I wanted to get 1 card up that I was able to complete so far. This one is based on day 1 inspired by Debbie Hughes video. I loved all of the supplies used in the Holiday Card Workshop 2014 but already own so many Christmas stamp sets and dies, I figured to use what I had instead and see what I can make.

Here is my take on it:
Started with Blueprints 13 since I'm loving the look of stitched on cards lately. Snowflakes are from the Decorative Strip Northern Frost from Stampin' Up. Tag is from Verve called: Sweet Scallop Die

Here is a close up
To get the splattered look in the back, I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (SU) along with a Platinum ink. Cute little circle with the little mitten is from the stamp set: Just For The Holidays (ctmh). Last but not least, the sentiment words are from MFT called: Christmas Greetings.

Loved all of the videos in class and still will be working on more Christmas cards.

I love these sketches and so happy to be able to join for week 1, VLVNOV2014 over at the Viva La Verve sketch challenge. Plus another Christmas card done to add to my package pile. Here I was able to play with some of my favorite Christmas sets. This one is called Unto Us from Verve and Holiday Treats.

Here is my card:
Love the color inspiration this week so I thought to focus on that as well as the sketch. Here I started with using a cute Snowflake embossing folder by Darcie and than used my Blueprints 13 to cute out a base along with Seasons of Style DSP from SU.

Used my Stitched Circles from MFT along with the Stitched Snow Drifts to create a little winter feeling. Since I wanted some small trees, I grabbed my Tree Lines Die-namics and used a green copic marker to add some detail and a brown one for the trunk at the bottom.

Pulled out two of my favorite stamps sets from Verve: Holiday Treats for the sentiment and Unto Us for this cute little reindeer. Little stars came from the Starry Die (Verve).

MFTWSC201 & Christmas - Jingle All The Way

Another week over at My Favorite Things with this cute sketch MFTWSC201 and for me another chance to play with more new things.

Also, joining in with Challenge #36 over at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long with their challenge of "Anything Goes" which is another Christmas card done for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. As much as possible, I want to try and create different cards for Christmas and thought it would be perfect to join both of these.
Here is my card:
This color combination came from My Favorite Things Monthly Color Palette and thought to give a go with this card. Click here if you want to view their monthly color challenge.

Started off with Blueprints 13 since I love that stitching around base and added the Linen Background stamp using Grout Gray ink. Than I went off to play with stencils and molding paste again. Here, I used the Scattered Bars and Concentric Circles.

After applying the paste, I added some Ranger Holographic embossing powder to add some sparkle. This is so much fun and now want to create more things with modeling paste and stencils and think it could be addicting. Hard to get a good photo of the sparkle look.

To finish up the card, I used the Chevron border die in white, added Sour Apple by using the Stitched Circle Stax, and last but not least colored in this cute Santa from the Jingle All the Way stamp set and popped him up using foam mount. In the end, I wanted just a little more green, so I went ahead and added some green basic rhinestones.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Jingle All the Way (MFT),
Cardstock: Smooth White, Grout Gray, Berrylicious, Red Hot, Sour Apple (MFT), X Press It Blending
Inks: MFT Hybird Ink Black, Copic Markers

MFTWSC200 - Sweet Birthday Wishes with Polka Dots

What a fun sketch over at My Favorite Things with MFTWSC200 so I thought it would be perfect to create my sister's birthday card with it and also join this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is Anything Goes.

Here is my card:
Started off using some Black Licorice and Wild Cherry card stock for my base and than grabbed some Kraft card stock for the panels which was stamped using: Darling Dots and white embossing powder.

For the center panel, I cut some Banana Split card stock to place behind this cute little girl and than used the Horizontal Stitched Strip die with black licorice again.

This cute little girl came from the stamp set: Sweet Birthday Wishes which was colored using copic markers and cut out using the matching die for this set. The little heart on the horizontal strip came from Blueprints #8 and for final touch, I added polka dots using white gel pen since my sister loves them.

Please make sure to stop over at the challenge sites as they have talented design teams which always have beautiful cards and terrific inspiration.

Challenge #34 - Christmas

What a fun site having Christmas all year long so I decided to join in with their Challenge #34 over at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long with a photo inspiration and anything goes week challenge. Plus this way I get more Christmas cards done for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Here is my card:
Since I just got these goodies, I figured why not use them and try to design something I can re-create fast and this is what I came up with. First I started with Spring Flowers Stencil from MFT and used white embossing paste and covered with a mix of clear embossing powder and red glitter.

Since I wanted the flowers a little more vibrant red, I colored over them with my copic red markers cleaning the glitter that was getting on my marker along the way, but it works. Marker looked fine when done.

Stamped this cute little girl from the stamp set: Jingle All the Way using my copics once again and focused on the colors of the photo inspiration (reds, green, white) and popped her up using foam mount. Sentiment came from the set Merry Messages which I just adore.

I continued playing around and almost added the cute little Christmas tree or some other embellishment but in the end decided to leave it as is and not add more since the glitter makes this card shine and didn't want to take away from it.
